Green Initiatives

Durcon, the global leader in laboratory grade countertops, is dedicated to the “green” initiative, modifying its product line over the past eighteen months to provide the most “green” and environmentally safe laboratory worksurface option on the planet.

Greenstone™ is Durcon’s newest epoxy resin countertop. This new formulation contains at least 10% post consumer recycled glass to reduce the global community’s landfill bound waste and contribute toward LEED credit MR 4.1 for recycled content.

In addition, Durcon’s corporate-wide “Lean and Green” initiative further reduces our waste, energy use and water consumption. We also provide a Dust-to-Dust™ recycling program. This program encourages the return of our epoxy resin material that has outlasted its intended use for conversion into usable construction and building material.

Durcon is a member of the USGBC (United States Green Building Council) and our worksurfaces meet various LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards which may contribute toward several categories for LEED Certification. Durcon's products also contribute to a healthier environment attaining GreenGuard^® and GreenGuard for Children & Schools^® certifications.
