Grading Operator

The Grading Operator is responsible for extraction of slabs for cure ovens, performs quality inspections on cast product, and follows process and safety policies, and procedures.

Primary Responsbilities:

  • Extraction of epoxsy-resin slabs from cure ovens using extractor hoist
  • Wipe down cured slabs with TABC thinner for removal of mold release
  • Perfoms daily safety checklists of designated equipment

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Capable of operating Anver lifts
  • Capable of becoming forklift certified
  • Able to work overtime including weekends

Molding Operator

The Molding Operator is responsbile for extracting and pouring heated mix by weight to create cast epoxy-resin product.

Primary Responsibliites:

  • Extract heated mix from mix tank into a pour barrel by weight and add additional components as required
  • Perfom quality inspection of mix and mold condition
  • Pour heated mix into slab and sink aluminum molds using overhead hoist

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Capable of becoming forklift certified
  • Required to wear a full face respirator

Cure Oven Operator

The Cure Oven Operator is responsible for extracting slabs from ovens, performing quality inspections on cast product, applying mold release chemicals and insuring molds in use are free of contaminants.

Primary Responsiblities:

  • Sand excess epoxy mix from sides of slab
  • Operate cure oven by extracting, inspecting, and sanding cast products and other operations
  • Assure molds are free of contaminants and apply mold release chemicals

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Capable of becomng forklift certified
  • May be required to wear a full face respirator

Estimator

Position Summary:

The Estimator prepares estimates for Epoxy Resin and Phenolic Resin work surfaces from architectural drawings, shop drawings, faxes, e-mails and phone requests; communicates with customers, Sales Representatives, Account Managers, and Staff on pricing issues; meets deadlines inlcuding adapting to changing situations; quickly responds to customers' requests and manages multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create new quotations for submittal to customers
  • Modify and/or revise quotation per customer or sales manager request as needed
  • Work with Sales Territory Managers regarding customer needs and requests as needed
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for customer projects
  • Maintain, build, and develop effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups to reinforce a commitmenet to Durcon's core values and world class customer service
  • Review provided sales scope document against blueprints and specs to identify opportunities or deviations
  • Maintain a full and current understanding of project drawings and plans
  • Maintain internal quote log with accuracy and detail
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as required

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience reading blueprints and interpreting specifications
  • Excellent customer interaction and communication skills
  • Independent decision-making ability
  • Proven ability to meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and blueprints, interpret specifications, etc.
  • General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing
  • Aiblity to maintain a high degree of precision on detailed work

Education/Training/Experience:

  • Associate degree in Drafting/CAD or applicable experience
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office software experience
  • Prior Estimating experience in a manufacturing industry preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity and ability to use a keyboard and mouse for 8 to 10 hours per day
  • Ability to view drawings on blueprints and computer screen
  • Ability to sit at a workstation for 8 to 10 hours per day
  • May be required to lift objects up to 25 pounds
