Durcon Epoxy Resin is the Worksurface Choice for 2013’s Lab of the Year!

For 46 years, R&D Magazine has recognized excellence in laboratory design, materials, and construction through its Laboratory of the Year competition. This year’s winner is Singapore’s Campus for Research Excellence And Technological Enterprise (CREATE).

Durcon Incorporated supplied the epoxy resin worksurfaces installed throughout the facility in conjunction with its team in Malaysia, who won the job and provided technical assistance from specification through installation.

CREATE is an international research campus and innovation hub. Home to a vibrant research community, CREATE hosts the National Research Foundation, interdisciplinary research centers from top universities and corporate laboratories such as the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART), the SAP Singapore Research Centre as well as technology incubators and start-ups.

The Lab of the Year announcement was made and project team members from Perkins+Will were honored during the Laboratory Design Conference which was held April 8-10, 2013 at the JW Marriot, Houston. Durcon representatives in attendance were Sid Adler, Vice President of Sales and Marketing; Mark Weber, Architectural Representative; Karen Lundgren, Sales Representative and John Powell, Marketing.

The Laboratory of the Year competition, sponsored by R&D Magazine, recognizes innovative designs, materials, and construction for laboratory facilities. A judging panel consists of architects, lab planners, construction project managers, a vendor representative from SEFA (Scientific Equipment and Furniture Association, co-sponsor of the Laboratory of the Year competition), and the editors of R&D Magazine and Laboratory Design Newsletter
