Taylor, TX - October 29, 2013 – The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) has announced that Durcon Incorporated is one of five finalists for its annual Employer of the Year award. Durcon, the nation’s largest manufacturer of high-performance epoxy resin countertops for science and education, is being recognized for its recent growth which brought new jobs to Taylor, TX, and the surrounding Austin area, as well as its overall contribution to the Texas economy.
Students at Buford Middle School are now learning about science, technology, engineering, and math in 4 state-of-the-art labs that feature 3D printing capabilities. The ribbon-cutting ceremony last week kicked off the Buford Engineering Design Academy, a $1.4 million, 9,600-square-foot renovation at Buford.*
Durcon’s epoxy resin worksurfaces were top choice for the newly renovated, technology-centric science labs. Director of Sustainable Design, Steve Davis, chose furnishings that encourage collaborative and hands-on learning. Davis specified Durcon’s epoxy resin countertops because they enhance the children’s learning environment through functional design and durability.
