Durcon, the nation’s largest manufacturer of high-performance epoxy resin countertops for science and education, is being recognized for its recent growth which brought new jobs to Taylor, TX, and the surrounding Austin area, as well as its overall contribution to the Texas economy.

  • Durcon's Epoxy Resin Worksurfaces Chosen for Sustainable Design in Buford Middle School Lab Renovation

    Students at Buford Middle School are now learning about science, technology, engineering, and math in 4 state-of-the-art labs that feature 3D printing capabilities. The ribbon-cutting ceremony last week kicked off the Buford Engineering Design Academy, a $1.4 million, 9,600-square-foot renovation at Buford.*

    Durcon’s epoxy resin worksurfaces were top choice for the newly renovated, technology-centric science labs. Director of Sustainable Design, Steve Davis, chose furnishings that encourage collaborative and hands-on learning. Davis specified Durcon’s epoxy resin countertops because they enhance the children’s learning environment through functional design and durability.

  • Durcon Among ARMA's "Founding Forty" Members

    Cordell Bennigson, Durcon’s CEO and member of the ARMA Board of Directors, said of the association, “Manufacturing plays an important role in our nation’s economy. ARMA was formed to not only be an advocate for this vitally important industry, but also to allow manufacturers in the Austin area to share ideas and best practices to help strengthen their businesses here in the area.� Bennigson added, “Durcon is proud of our central Texas roots as well as our international operations and global reach. Other ARMA members include global giants such as Samsung and Freescale Semiconductor, and we have the backing and support of the Austin Chamber of Commerce and government policy makers.�

    Durcon Incorporated, which was recently acknowledged as Central Texas Exporter of the year, looks forward to participating with other ARMA members from around central Texas to share its over forty years of manufacturing, export and logistics experience.   • The International Export Award Goes to Durcon Incorporated

    [Taylor, TX] - Durcon Incorporated is the Central Texas’, Medium Business Exporter of the Year as recognized by The Austin Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with GlobalAustin, the City of Austin, and the State of Texas.

    The honor was bestowed at the Third Annual Austin International Export Awards, an annual ceremony recognizing small, medium and large companies for their global success in manufacturing and service. The gathering also recognized members of the Texas Consular Corps and other high ranking officials representing countries including Croatia, Egypt, Germany, India, Mexico, Russia, and Thailand among others. 

    “Austin’s global impact is ever increasing, and companies around the world have noticed,� remarked Dave Porter, Senior Vice President of Economic Development, Austin Chamber. 

    Other International Award winners included Freescale Semiconductor (Large Business Export Award winner), and Fabworx Solutions Inc. (Small Business Export Award winner). The award for Top Foreign Direct Investment in 2012 went to Samsung Austin Semiconductor. 

    The International Export Award winners, Including Durcon, were also recognized earlier in the day at the Governor’s Small Business Forum: Texas Global Business Summit during a luncheon that featured a keynote address from Governor Rick Perry. 

    Representing Durcon at the events were International Sales Manager, Bruce Davies, and Marketing Manager, John Powell.

    Davies said of the award, “It is a great honor to be recognized by the Chamber of Commerce of one of the fastest growing business environments in the nation.� Davies went on to say, “Durcon is poised to continue making great strides in our global impact as international markets rebound.�
